My Baby Got Some Moves...

Parker came home from Grandma & Papa's house in another fabulous mood on Friday.  He is always so happy on Friday nights.  Maybe it has to do to him actually napping on Friday's (since he doesn't really nap at daycare) or maybe he senses that it is Friday and he knows he will be with momma and dada all weekend.  Who knows, but I absolutely LOVE when he is in these moods. The kid especially loved to dance last Friday night.  Over, and over, and over.  He kept asking for more.  He had a ball. Oh, and he made sure dada and momma were dancing too.  Oh and Layla.  He pitched a fit if our little dog, Layla, ran away and didn't "dance".  We all had to dance. Period.  Exhausting, but so much fun!

A Letter to Parker

Dear Parker, My Sweet Sweet Angel Baby,
"If I could give you one thing in life, I would give you the ability to see yourself through my eyes, only then would you realize how special you are to me." Such a honest and true statement of how I feel about you.  If you could just see yourself through my eyes then you would never ever ever self-doubt yourself a bit.  You would see perfection, sweetness, lovingness, funniness.  All things I see every day I wake up next to you and every night I fall asleep staring at your preciousness.  Every night I put you to bed, and after you fall asleep, I look into your sweet innocent angel face and say to myself "I cannot believe we made you", seriously, "we made YOU".  It still amazes me that you lived inside my belly for nine months and that you came out so perfect and wonderful and everything I could dream of having in a child.  YOU are my world, YOU make me a better person, YOU are the best thing (next to daddy) that has ever happened to me.  YOU give me purpose, YOU give me meaning.  Daddy said to me last night as I was loving on you... "No wonder he is so obsessed with you... Look at you, you are just as obsessed with him".  So true.  Daddy's right.  I can't get enough of you.  But that's what being a good mommy is all about, right?! Every good mommy feels this way I think.  And to be honest, I KNOW with every ounce of my being that I am a damn good mom.  I know it.  I am proud of the mom I am and I think that is a good thing.  I also I think I owe a lot to my own mom, because the apple oviously didn't fall far from the tree in this case.  I learned everything I know on how to love a child through my parents (your grandma and papa).  They are experts on parenting, and for that I am grateful.  I must also tell you how proud of the Daddy your father is to you.  He loves you just as much as I do, and one day you will appreciate that and not only want your mommy ALL.THE.TIME.  I wish you would let your father do more for you. It is obvious that he wants to, and I know you will one day allow him to, but for now you just have a crazy obession with me and I'm okay with that.  Thank you, sweet boy of mine, for being the perfect little boy for me.  I love you to the moon and back and back.  YOU are my angel. For always and forEVER.
A few of my all time favorite photos since you entered our lives
You were just a few days old in this gem of a picture. Still my all time favorite of my loves!

This one clearly represents our love for each other...

A weekend of P's

Party, Paint, & Park

Party.  Harlen had his 2nd birthday party on Saturday.  For those of you (aka...extended family) who don't know who Harlen is, let me take a minute to tell you about him.  Harlen is my best friend's little boy, and he is only 6 weeks younger than Parker.  We live about 5 minutes away from each other and it is awesome!  Harlen's mommy and I met freshman year in high school and have best friends ever since.  I remember the day we became friends like it was yesterday.  We were in the same technology class freshman year and I knew she was friends with a boy I liked (Chase), so I did what every girl would do and introduced myself to her and asked her about her "cute friend".  Although Chase and I didn't last, I'm so grateful for that high school crush.... because of it, I have found "a lifer" in a best friend.  A lifer is what I'd like to call Christine.  A best friend for LIFE.  Fast forward about 15 years and we are as close as ever.  I talk to her multiple times a week and get together with her at least monthly.  We were so lucky to even be pregnant together. Perfect situation.  Now, let me tell you a little about Harlen.  He is obsessed with sports, communicates like no other 2 year old I know, can throw a mean football, can kick a soccer ball like no other, but what I love most about him is his sweetness.  I've never seen the kid throw a tantrum.  Well maybe once when Christine wouldn't let him put on his pajamas, but other than that... never seen one.  Christine swears he does, but I don't believe it :).  I've never seen him shove or push or pinch (all things I've sadly seen my own son do).  Harlen is just Harlen.  Sweet and perfect.  Love him so much.  So, it was so fun to celebrate him on Saturday.  Our other best friends (and "lifers"), Molly and Sarah were there too, which made it extra special.  Sarah lives in Savannah and has a little boy, Grayson, who is 6 months younger than Parker and Harlen, so it was really fun to get see him with boys this time (now that they're older and can actually interact). They are growing up so fast.

Oh goodness, please excuse my awful singing voice on this video. Yikes! Don't worry, I will not be signing up for American Idol anytime soon.  Too funny & cute not to post though! Making memories!

We ended up staying over after the party for some dinner.  So cute!

And I little wagon ride to end the night...

Paint.  Ok, so Parker and I went out to get Harlen a soccer ball and some finger paint for his birthday present.  Ever since, Parker has been begging to paint, and will scream at me "paint, paint, paint" ever since we bought Harlen some paint.  He does a lot of painting at school, so I know he knows what it is and what it means.  I know he loves so much, but it really is a huge pain in the a** for me.  However, what my baby wants my baby gets, so I went out and bought him some damn paint! Ha!

Park.  I had the day off on Monday.  Thank you Presidents.  So after our morning of painting, my brother wanted to meet us at the park.  How sweet for my brother to want to spend his day off of work with his sweet little nephew!  So off to the park we went to meet Uncle Adam.  We had a great time, and the sandbox was Parker's favorite (me - not so much).

He is such a "people watcher"... Just like his Grandma :)

Our Day

I had a nice long 4 day weekend to spend with my angel baby.  I was determined to soak up every single minute I had with him and take nothing for granted!  We had a busy busy day on Friday full of what Parker wanted to do.  We started the morning off with some cuddling, bed jumping, painting, coloring, potty buying, potty sitting (and sitting and sitting and sitting), errand running, car singing, 3.5 hour napping (yay for mommy), bird watching, outside playing, dirt eating, bath time loving, book reading, and bedtime snuggling.  My boy kept me busy that is for sure, and I loved every single minute of it!  Here is a look back on "Our Friday".

He was SO excited to pick out and buy his new potty!
He sat and sat and sat... and nothing! Oh well, I'm not really starting to potty train him until this summer when I have off of work.  I just thought I'd get him use to the idea.
Pulling up his pants like he acomplished something or something....
This boy LOVES to "draw"
                                                                    Bird Watching
Then he spotted his school friend, Jacob, who is also our neighbor is out to play too!
Lord help me. This boy threw dirt and then ate dirt....
After the dirt eating incident, I rushed him inside to throw him in the bath!
It truly was an awesome day with my boy.  I soaked him up just like I had planned.  Looking forward to my summer off with this little guy.  Oh, and I must end this post with a video I took of Parker singing/hand motioning to "If you're happy and you know it".  He cracks me up!

Whew, What a Weekend!

I was throwing my bestest friend, Molly’s, wedding shower on Saturday and then we went out for her bachelorette party that night. Whew, what a day!  I left Parker (insert sad face) at 11 a.m. and didn’t see my boy again until Sunday morning.  It was so hard not being with him, but was able to have some much needed “Molly Time”, so I survived… barely.  I’m not use to going out like that, and man I definitely paid for it on Sunday… and on Monday! Ugh! Meanwhile, Matt got in some much needed “boy time” with Parker and they had a great day together.  Here are 2 pictures he sent me while I was gone all day and night.
Parker watching "Marley and Me" very intently.  He is OBSESSED with Marley, and asks to watch almost daily!

Here are few other random pictures from the week that are too precious not to post....
This boy loves to read. He looks like such a big boy to me in this picture.

My two loves sleeping side by side. Had to capture this sweet moment.

Our Friday Night Entertainment

Oh how times have changed!  Our Friday night's are A LOT different now, and I absolutely LOVE it!  This video is from last Friday night.  Parker was with his Papa and Grandma all day and he came home in such a fabulous mood and full of energy! I love it when he gets excited like he does in this video.  Such joy and excitement in his eyes.
This "activity" went on for a lot longer than what is shown in the video, but I had to cut some out of it for it to upload.  This went on for a good 10-15 minutes, and if it was up to Parker it would have continued into the wee hours of the night, but Dada was getting tired as you can imagine :)
