Family, Boo At The Zoo, & Sunday Funday

My wonderful and fun family from Alabama came to visit over the weekend. My aunt Cindy, uncle Shawn, and uncle Ricky. I just love them and have so much fun when I'm around them. They are the "partying" side of our family. None of them have kids of their own, but are still so awesome with Parker. Aunt Cindy and Uncle Shawn gave Parker his first Bow and Arrow. Within 10 minutes, Parker can basically shoot this thing by himself. He amazes me with his attention to detail and eagerness to learn.

On Sunday morning, we headed over to the zoo for the event "Boo At The Zoo."  It's basically no different than any other day at the zoo except all the kids are dressed up.  There were about 5 candy stands throughout the zoo, so that was fun for the boys.  The coolest part of the event was this covered play area where they had games and tattoo painting, but of course my child was too freaked out by all the noise and dressed up characters that he demanded we "go home." My kid is pretty fearless when it comes to jumping off heights or slides or anything adventurous, but show him a person in a character costume and he holds on for dear life.  He is not a fan of crowded places filled with strangers either.   Overall, the day was a success though!  Parker loves his "Charlie" and "Lala", so anything we do with them is a blast for Parker.
Love this picture. Our little "momma boys"

Spider-man + Woody = BFF
All around BFFs - So cute!!!

The hat makes him look more like a farmer than a cowboy.
Just when our weekend couldn't get any better.... a simple phone call to Christine on Sunday afternoon... and BAM.... I landed me and Parker an early evening playdate at the park along with dinner with the Wilson's. AWESOME! And I just have to say.... I couldn't believe how well behaved Harlen was at dinner.  He sat in his booster seat the entire time and actually ate well. WHAT?  Meanwhile, my ban-gee of a child was in and out of his booster, playing peekaboo with the people behind us, and MAYBE JUST MAYBE grabbing a bite of mac n cheese throughout all of his shanagans.  It is totally our fault that he doesn't sit patiently at dinner.  I guess we figured he can stand up and jump as long as he eats something. Eats anything.  It has always been our greatest struggle with Parker.  I swear he just eats enough to survive on this earth.

Jumping!

So stinking cute!

  1. we should totally have a double-dinner-date sometime soon. our boys can compete for who will behave WORSE at the table. Mine will win, I'm telling you.

  2. Parker literally stands and jumps about 99.9% of the time! But I'll take you up on a dinner date anytime so I don't feel like my kid is the only crazy!!!

  3. I have never seen anything but cuteness from Parker! He may not eat his weight in food, but he is one happy boy and that is all that matters. On a side note, Harlen does not always sit still like he did. That was pure exhaustion and thefact that buzz was in attendance,so he was entertained. If we did not have a new toy to entertain him, he would have been running laps around the place, promise.
